Do you love the smell of citrus when you’re cleaning? But, do you hate to use those products with the harsh chemicals and ingredients you can’t even BEGIN to announce?

No problem!

At It’s Cleaning Time, we are all about green cleaning and we would love to give you some tips for using natural ingredients. Lemon, for example, can work wonders to clean safely in your home!

For the cook who has their favorite copper pans… Have they started to become dull? Dip half of a lemon in salt or baking powder to scour your pans! Keep them looking fresh and new!

A hack for the gym junkie who keeps all of those meal preps in plastic containers… If you mix lemon juice with baking soda, you can use it to remove stains in your containers!

A personal favorite trick of mine (and I always have some of this on hand), is combining some lemon juice squeezed from fresh lemons, and white vinegar, in a jar. Then allow the combo to marinate for a few days. Go ahead and leave the peels, or the smooshed halves in the jar, too. Then when it’s ready, put it in a clean spray bottle and you have yourself some great natural cleaner!

Do you smell a smelly smell? Well a small dish that contains vinegar and lemon juice will absorb odors. This is great for in the fridge, bathroom, or maybe you have a teenager with a stinky room!

Another hack for the chef at home! Naturally disinfect your cutting board by rubbing  a slice of lemon across your cutting board to disinfect it’s surface.

Since lemon powerful antiseptic and antibacterial properties and are a natural deodorizer due to their high acidic content, they make for a great cleaner when you are trying to keep it green and eco friendly!

Happy Cleaning!
